The sweater vest trend is here and thanks to Tyler The Creator and the 2000s ”thundercats” it’s made a tremendous comeback. The sweater vest (just like back then) has a vintage aesthetic, which is also a trend at the moment.

Prada’s 2020 Resort collection showed oversized, chunky vests styled with classic striped blouses and flowy midi skirts. Contemporary brands are getting in on the sweater vest craze, too. Thanks to the brand Ganni (Copenhagen-based label) showcased fitted iterations covered in quirky argyle patterns this season. The quirky-cool styling 2020 iteration of the sweater vest no longer feels like something you’d find in prep-school hallways or in your dad’s closet. Think of it as an alternative to the dad’s sneaker. Below I’ve shared some looks that may convince me to start layering using this item.
