La Femme

It’s womens month! And I’ve been thinking about the women who have influenced me – real friends, internet pals and even strangers. Women that have inspired me to find my voice in the things I have wanted to share and talk about on social media. Women, all over the world are such significant beings in this life and can overcome so many obstacles, and that’s true strength that you can admire.

When you think about how long it’s been that women needed to always set themselves aside and prioritize their feelings, emotions and being likeable by society because of something they might say or do that may effect another (and not even negatively for that matter). I’ve always spoken about how I love when women say ‘screw that, I’m doing whatever I want’ and they stop prioritizing. They now heard, they’re voices become more loud. They become unapologetic and true to themselves.

So, to anyone who ever sits in a space where they second guess the strength, resilience and power of a woman, think again:

wathint’ abafazi, wathint’ imbokodo, uza kufa (you strike a woman, you strike a rock, you die).
