In addition to blog more I’ve introduced a new series titled ‘The Weekender’. I’ll include visuals of what I wore, views, location and food. I’ll compile images from both the weekday and weekend. It’s a vlog but written, titled, the weekender.
This past weekend was amazing. Very chilled out and laid back just how I like it. We got to do one of our favourite thing which was visit a gallery that we’ve been to before and that you’re probably familiar with. A self-care Friday as always AND not to mention the joy to my coffee dilemma. Keep scrolling to check out what I got up to this past weekend.
Wash day… where do I begin. As much as I always wash my hair on Fridays I always have to mentally and physically prepare myself because there is always a lot to it. I’ve been on a natural hair journey for over a year and I’m slowly grasping into the things that work for me like products and even how the routine of washing my hair should play out, which I’m extremely proud of (also, be on the lookout for a guide to how I take care of my natural hair and just my overall journey including products). My classic favourite hairstyle was an obvious go-to look and I also got to do my nails.
I was so excited for the start to the weekend because I’ve been raving to go checkout a gallery. Our first stop was the BKHZ gallery which is actually still showcasing Wonder Buhle’s work. I absolutely LOVE the detailing of his artwork. Everything comes through, hair texture actually looks like it and even detailing in the face is exactly that, it was amazing. Our second stop was just a walk away which was a gallery we’ve been to before and that you’ve probably seen on this series [ Read Here: The Weekender Series – Gallery Visits, Hiking & Movie Dates ], the Everard Gallery which was just as calm as always. I am obsessed with the recent work of Bambo Sibiya titled ‘OKUHLULA AMADODO KUYABIKWA’, 2020. We had our go-to BGR which was our first meal (unfortunately, I didn’t take a photo of the food but we did have burgers because that’s what they specialize in and it was good!). Our next stop diving into the afternoon was Monte Casino and we went bowling. Okay, J has some really good skills I clearly lost it because I last went bowling when I was probably 9/10 and I was highkey kicking butts at the time. We also went to the game arcade and had so much fun! Imagine someone you can be a kid with, yup! that’s the one. Our last stop was Fish Monger for the last meal of the deal and as always it was good.
Here’s an exciting coffee dilemma update. I recently tried out a cappuccino with almond milk and I must say all is good! Which I am highkey so glad about. I will definitely be trying out more of it just to adjust to the taste and most importantly the big change since I’ve always drank fresh milk so there’s definitely adjusting to do but so far so good. Thank you to everyone who messaged me and recommended I try soy milk (which I’m not disregarding by the way) I want to take it one step at a time and will certainly give soy milk a shot.

Happy Sunday! Y’all know it’s my favourite day just because of how calming it feels. Before heading to the shops we tried out, well it was my first time and J has had food from this particular restaurant before when he travelled to Cape Town years back. I was craving a salad which I liked although, he had their chicken schnitzel which he didn’t enjoy that much unfortunately. The place is still such a cool vibe and accompanied by rain we still got through our meals. We took a drive to Sandton City to just window shop but knowing me that apparently does not exist. The in-store visits included an Exclusive Books stop with some photo taking AND we saw such cool fashion books from high-end brands like Vuitton, Gucci and VOGUE.

Surprisingly, this month went really fast and I’m looking forward to the rest of the year. More ‘Weekender’ content coming up so be on the lookout.
