The Weekender Series – Hormones, Trendy New Boots & Mirror Images

In addition to blog more I’ve introduced a new series titled ‘The Weekender’. I’ll include visuals of what I wore, views, location and food. I’ll compile images from both the weekday and weekend. It’s a vlog but written, titled, the weekender.

Alright, so jumping straight into another series with things I got up to, we kickstarting from Wednesday up till Sunday, of course. We had a jam packed start before the weekend and got some things done and it just had to be from Wednesday. Keep scrolling and check out what we got up to.

February 3rd,

Before I run you through what we did I wanted to share my recent shoe purchase which was this beaut that we got from a shop in Cresta. It’s from a brand called Joja which I’ve never heard of before but that makes it fun, right? What are the chances of someone rocking up in these. I instantly fell in love with them when I saw the visual merchandise and the shoe being the center of attraction. They kinda remind me of the current A/W trends overseas with The Row ‘Chelsea’ inspired boots and these come in so many complimentary designs that are obviously dependent on your personal style. I can’t wait for A/W to properly kick in so I can style these.Whew, what a mouthful of words. Okay, so we spent our morning doing our individual work at my personal favourite spot, the Bloom cafè which is located in Parkhurst. I love this spot because it is aimed at giving you that space and comfort of working and eating. It was a cloudy, rainy day so of course I chose to wear my new boots and I styled them very minimal yet street style fun.

February 5th,

Yay, Friday! This day included trying out a restaurant we’ve never been to and mirror images in the morning we headed to Bloom again to get work done (always a great choice). I wore my current faves with a white wool jersey and my denims. I finally had a glass of wine just because… I mean it’s been a while and our restrictions in South Africa have been updated so restaurants are allowed to serve alcohol drinks. J and I weren’t that hungry but we did order just very small dishes. We first tried their calamari starter and for our mains I tried their cheeseburger and J had their mac & cheese. Also, how cool is their bathroom mirror.

February 6th,

Okay, long story short I’m on the hormonal injection and it’s been treating me really good BUT I swear, once I get a fresh shot it’s like I’ve never had it before. I woke up with such a bad breakout but I do appreciate when this happens because you can’t always have perfect skin, right? Hormonal changes are real and especially as women we need to just go through whatever our body is going through, you know. Anyway, we went to The Malt Barrel and Fire in Monte Casino and we’ve been there before so it was good to go back and try out it out again. We killed time and had supper because we were waiting on our movie ‘Soul’ featuring Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey and Angela Bassett. Ever wonder where your passion, your dreams and your interests come from? What is it that makes you… YOU? Watch it!

February 7th,

Cheesecake, cheesecake, cheesecake. Ah, I’ve been craving for it for the longest time especially from the BootLegger because the last time we were there our table was facing the section where they make warm beverages and had a display of cakes. We had supper at The Hussar Grill in Monte Casino while waiting for our movie. Ah, what a great way to thank a customer with a complimentary chocolate mousse, yum! Guess what we watched? Pinocchio. I know, who would’ve thought but I wanted to see it because I’ve only ever watched the animated versions of him and really wanted to see a real life representation of him.
