The Weekender Series – Small Moments, Hair Update & Night Time Routine

In addition to blog more I’ve introduced a new series titled ‘The Weekender’. I’ll include visuals of what I wore, views, location and food. I’ll compile images from both the weekday and weekend. It’s a vlog but written, titled, the weekender.

Bringing in stillness, listening to my body and taking in the small moments. And that’s about it. Jokes! But on a serious note that is exactly what I got up to, some self care with a twist – dedicated to my physical and spiritual body. I also got my hair done and I also just got into exfoliating my body and included this in my night time routine. Keep scrolling and check out all the goodies I got up to this weekend.

It’s Friday and you all know what that means… WASH DAY! I think I’m a lot more excited because I am going to do something different to my usual hairdo. I’m getting my hair done tomorrow and all I want to do is give my hair extra attention and time. So, of course my favourite hair masque is a must, although I kept it on for a bit longer (which is safe to do BTW, it’s written on the package) and doing some extra scalp massaging while shampooing my hair and extra oil moisturizing since I won’t be undoing my hair the following Friday, and it will be needed to lock in more moisture and just keep my hair in place until I undo the plaits.

Another added thing I wanted to reference was my night time routine. Both my day and night regime are disciplined. However, for me, the main focus is routine and creating my own rituals. I spend a lot of time on my skin, especially at night time. I’ll set aside between 30-45 minutes to double-cleanse, apply extra moisturizers and practice facial massaging. I am all about self-care – it makes you feel beautiful and healthy and I find this quiet ritual really centering, especially at night. It’s a time when I can reflect on my day and think ahead to the next one, whilst staying in a relaxed, almost meditative state.

And just like that, WELCOME TO THE WEEKEND. We were up early so J could drop me off to get my hair done at a salon I’ve never been to. I didn’t want to take any chances in case it gets full or whatever so we just decided that the best option was to get there early.

The Sabbath Day, I want to get into a routine for the series where I’ll add an inspirational quote because we all know that majority spend Sundays with dedicating to either church or just overall prayer. This doesn’t need you to be religious or anything it’s just a message that usually sits on my heart at that particular time and carries me through the new week.

Journeying through life with God is a beautiful thing. It’s something you can never go wrong with. Yes, there will be ups and downs but guess what? His grace will sustain you through it all.

So, my birthday is soon and we’re off on a staycation and whew, you guys know I’m a full on packer. If it was possible to take my entire wardrobe I would. But I’ll try keep it discipline this time. If you do want to see a more in depth way I pack for staycations/vacations be on the lookout for a post I put together.

I hope you guys are having a blissful year so far. I know we all going through our own things but let’s push to get through these times. Also, a huge THANK YOU for all the positive feedback I receive from people who either find inspiration from the blog or just enjoy popping by.
