In line with the categories ‘fashion and style’, this series is dedicated to focusing on a particular item and sharing either multiple ways to style it with additional recommendations or just sharing a current photo with multiple visuals around that item with similar recommendations, of course. Think fashion magazine article with a Haut twist – brief, fun, fashion, style, the edit.
Drum roll please for my favourite clothing category – knitwear. I love and appreciate a good knitwear piece because of how warm and stylish it is. Think cosy yet practical and versatile for all year round. And as the days and nights get chillier, I wanted to share my current 3 favourite knitwear pieces that are trendy and functional. Keep scrolling to check them out and while you’re at it they’re not the jumpers your grandma used to knit for you.
1. Cardigans

I just had to have these first because how do you not like them. Cardigans are such great investments and the bonus of every other pro is that they’re transeasonal. It is the most versatile piece of clothing you’ll ever own (no jokes!) The trendy part of these are the oversized look, two-piece/twin-sets and mixing and matching with other knitted items so don’t miss out.
2. Knitted Vests

Nothing new on trend forecasts, these are such staples to own especially considering how they’re seen day-to-day on fashion lovers, celebrities, runway shows (think Gucci) and style sites and magazines. These happen to be one of those items you can get a lot of functionality from. They can be layered, worn just as is or styled chic with warm ensembles in both the cold and warm seasons.
3. Coordinates

These have been on my timeline for the longest time. With this think two-piece or twinsets, just an overall head to toe knitted look whether it’s bottoms, tops, dresses, it’s a matchy colour and texture situation. I think these are great because it’s warm, comfortable and stylish (especially neutral toned items).
As I’ve mentioned in the introduction, think cosy yet practical. If you’re looking to invest in knitwear know that it’s not a brain blowing item that requires you to overthink how to style. Throw them on your already set looks or day-to-day styles, you can’t go wrong.
Below I put some inspirational knitwear items to give you a broader idea of what’s out there.
