Meet Anthea Ngubo, Blogger & Fashion Buyer

HAUT : Describe what you do
ANTHEA : I am a fashion buyer
HAUT : What’s your skin type
ANTHEA : Normal to dry. However, my skin does change depending on the season and the environmental factors.
HAUT : Tell us about your current skin care routine
ANTHEA : The traditional cleanse, tone and moisturise. I do my skincare routine mornings and nights, religiously. And of course, the occasional facial scrub and mask.
HAUT : What’s one thing you wished you learned sooner with regards to skin (yours in particular)
ANTHEA : Good skin is not necessarily expensive. I used to think “the more expensive the skincare brand is, the better the results”. Those results only lasted a hot second. Skin is so personal and unique, a brand that works for someone else will not necessarily work for me. I know of non-expensive skincare brands that yield great long-term results.
HAUT : Your favourite skincare brand
ANTHEA : Ponds Flawless Radiance. I started using it years ago and I have never looked back. I also love that the brand recognizes and caters to dark skin tones and that’s important to me.
HAUT : What’s the last skin care product you finished and would you purchase it again?
ANTHEA : Johnson’s Baby Oil. I mean…it’s so good for your face and body. It also has few ingredients which is important to reduce risk of irritation and allergies.
HAUT : Any skin care tricks or tips to share
ANTHEA : Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!! I know people say this all the time, but water has other benefits as well. I mean, 60% of the human body is water. I personally start the day by drinking hot water with lemon. I also think maintaining a healthy diet contributes to good skin and fortunately for me I enjoy eating clean (well, for the most part).
HAUT : Skincare words of encouragement
ANTHEA : I think a lot of people make the mistake of mixing and changing skincare products frequently, Once you find what works for you, stick with it! Also, hormonal changes are normal and your skin will bounce back. And start taking care of your body and skin now. Your future self will thank you for it.
