In line with the categories ‘fashion and style’, this series is dedicated to focusing on a particular item and sharing either multiple ways to style it with additional recommendations or just sharing a current photo with multiple visuals around that item with similar recommendations, of course. Think fashion magazine article with a Haut twist – brief, fun, fashion, style, the edit.
The spring season is slowly approaching and a good straw bag is most definitely a wardrobe essential I’ve got my eye set on. There’s no limit with it and just like any other bag design there’s so many colours, styles and sizes to choose from. If you’re a trend follower, you would know or be aware that the straw/woven bag is not a brand new trend. It certainly isn’t and has been around much longer than you think. They’re without a doubt have moments in the fashion spotlight and is a timeless spring/summer signature must-have. If you want some designer inspiration a good old Loewe basket bag is a favourite amongst fashionistas, celebrities and bloggers for obvious reasons- practical, eye-catching and feminine. Another designer goodie is the Jacquemus woven tote bag which is a handwoven completely from straw with a contrast trim. Right now a designer favourite is from the Ines Bressand brand which is made in Marseilles atelier using braided elephant grass by locals in Ghana. I love the accentuated styles made by generous silhouettes using traditional craftsmanship.
