The Weekender Series – Sculpture Park Adventures & Spring Scents

In addition to blog more I’ve introduced a new series titled ‘The Weekender’. I’ll include visuals of what I wore, views, location and food. I’ve introduced a new series titled ‘The Weekender’. I’ll compile images from both the weekday and weekend. It’s a vlog but written, titled, the weekender. weekender.

Join me as I share my recent adventures from visiting the Nirox Sculpture Park, explore colour, take a million (well, not really) photos of J and myself and of course, catch up on some cinema things.

Not much to show but just a easy-going Friday at the Emmarentia dam. We watched the sunset and enjoyed some Starbucks. Where I’m from the spring season just kicked in and I am looking forward to trying out some new things. J and I are both looking into trying out new places so will the upcoming ‘Weekender Series’ be about new adventures? For sure.

To start off this ‘diary entry’ I wanted to share my recent scent purchase from Woolworths. I am so obsessed with the smell of this perfume and I think it will be such a great smell for both the spring and summer. I am so picky when it comes to well, everything including scents and this is just perfect because of how delicate it is. For me anything fresh with a hint of floral yet gentle is a winner in my books. J and I stopped to get some refreshments and got some samosas and other baked pastries. We stopped by the Parkhurst area to get some shots and yes, I wore a pink dress. I know that I’ve shared before how much I want to be wearing prints and I actually want to explore colour as well. It reminds me of my blog post I did sometime last year [Read Here: The minimalist added colour]. Maybe not the brightest but very subtle tones that won’t overwhelm me too much. I got this pretty dress from Mr Price and it fits like a dream. I paired with my chunky flip flops from Cotton On [Read Here: Not The Row but, The Row] and my dream bag from Mango, Spain. J wore such a cool outfit that I loved. A basic striped tee from H&M, my favourite jacket from Zara and denim. I loved the tones of his outfit so much I just had to get some photos. We headed off to the cinema and watched The Protégé which is an action/thriller about a child rescued by the legendary assassin Moody and who grows up to be the most skilled contract killer. I won’t spoil it because I think it’s a great movie to watch. I highly recommend it. We had a Starbucks stop as per usual and had supper at Spur.

My favourite day and my type of weather. We took a short road trip to Kromdraai to the Nirox Sculpture Park which is such a beautiful place. It’s a beautiful space to walk around and explore some of the pieces around. There’s also parts of the area where you can sit, and aesthetically pleasing toilet and a restaurant. I particularly liked the old man with his hand out and couldn’t stop laughing. I enjoy doing such things. You don’t have to always spend a lot of money to have a good time sometimes, the good times are right in front of you. I took so many photos of us and it was so hard deciding which were best to feature on the series but I know these are a great fit. The restaurant was fully booked so we headed to Melrose Arch and had some Ocean Basket which was such a calm vibe with the setting and music playing in the background. For dessert, we went to our favourite place Parkhurst and J had some ice cream and I had a Starbucks drink. If you haven’t noticed I am wearing the white version of the dress I wore in my previous series [Read Here: The Weekender Series – Italian Dining, Pretty Interior & New Products]. Which is your favourite? Surprisingly I like the white one more. You know I had to feature J and his great eye for pairing minimal looks. He literally matches the majority of the minimal backgrounds we often find ourselves in and I’m kinda jealous. Also, if you’re looking to try a drink at Starbucks I highly recommend the Hibiscus drink it’s AMAZING! J actually plugged me with the drink and now I’m obsessed. I think besides iced coffee it’s going to be my go-to spring/summer drink. We went to the cinema and watched Malignant which is a horror/thriller about a young woman who is terrified by visions of the murders of strangers. There’s a bigger twist to it but I won’t be a spoiler.
