The Style Edit – Waistcoat

MATCHESFASHION- RACIL, Johnny crossover back wool waistcoat

In line with the categories ‘fashion and style’, this series is dedicated to focusing on a particular item and sharing either multiple ways to style it with additional recommendations or just sharing a current photo with multiple visuals around that item with similar recommendations, of course. Think fashion magazine article with a Haut twist – brief, fun, fashion, style, the edit.

The waistcoat is clearly making a huge comeback. From the streets to big fashion houses. Both feminine and masculine finds and ways to style. This piece has secured a bright future ahead of it. The 2021/2022 trends have me excited because pieces have no limits (and for the longest time honestly). Items that were once worn only for one season gets carried throughout and I enjoy that. The functionality and how versatile a piece is. The pieces that create or make that finishing touch to a look now pulls the whole look together. Outerwear trends are great and especially chic whether you’re looking to wear every single day or as a statement piece. Waistcoats or vests (as some
may call it) are more structured (menswear inspired) and some with a bigger silhouette. Whether worn polished with an oversized collar shirt, or worn on it’s own. Creating a fun look with matching trousers speaks ‘power’ to the traditional suit look.

If you’ve been keen, ahead is an edit of my top picks.
